We are part of a group of churches known as the
British Columbia Baptist Conference (B.C.B.C.)
These churches belongs to a larger body known as the
Baptist General Conference of Canada (B.G.C.C.)
Calvary started in 1961 as a church plant by Mount Pleasant Church in Vancouver. We were one of many churches that Mount Pleasant had helped start, throughout the Lower Mainland, over the years.
God seems to extend his Kingdom in powerful ways through churches that help start new churches. Planting a church shakes things up and leads members to a greater dependence on the Lord and a rededication to what truly matters: as many people as possible hearing about how much Jesus loves them.
Calvary wants to be the new Mount Pleasant - helping start as many gospel-centred churches as possible. We planted Calvary Persian Church in 2005 and Evergreen Community Church in 2015. We want to do whatever it takes to see the life-transforming gospel of Jesus go forth in Coquitlam and beyond.
